Look What I Grew!!!

Dscn0015

Will you look at that.  Fresh basil and baby tomatoes.  All I need now is some fresh mozarella and some dressing and we've got a salad.  Easy food - that's what I'm all about.  I never thought I'd be much of a gardener because I hate to cook.  However, I discovered a little secret.  If you have a garden, you don't have to cook. . . you just go outside and pick!  I'm a picker not a cooker.

Door County Rules!

Our annual trip to Door County was heavenly as usual.  The highlight, ofcourse, was the Fourth of July parade.

This was the first year we remembered to bring chairs!  We even found a spot in the shade, which was good because it was a scorcher.

I love this shot of them under the umbrella between the old guys.

The girls enjoyed park time in Sister Bay. . .

and the Little Bird got to go to Pirate's Cove with Daddy for mini-golf.

All in all it was a wonderful trip.

A farewell shot of the peach looking sweet.

Come and Get Your Lemonade!

The girls had their first lemonade stand.  A child's first lemonade stand is definitely a milestone in their development.  It was a little heart wrenching to watch my little bird very earnestly setting everything up with thoughts of big profits in mind knowing the reality of the lemonade stand myself.  Everyone has to go through this at some point I told myself.  It didn't stop me, though, from wanting to call everyone I knew to try to convince them to drive on by our house.  It was so sweet to see how generally shocked she was that people didn't just start lining up.  She was so disgusted when a car would just drive by without stopping.

Notice those wonderful fourth of July cookies?  Am I Betty Crocker or what?!

Dscn0006

My sweet girls with some neighborhood friends that helped out.  The little bird learned that the best part of a lemonade stand is eating the cookies and drinking the lemonade.
